The Synod:

Pope Francis has inaugurated preparation for the 16th Synod of
Bishops, taking place in Rome in 2023.  Following several meetings
with parishioners, the Parish made its submission to our Bishop.

Bishop Richard considered it, together with the submissions of all
other Parishes and individuals within the Diocese who responded,
and held an online Synod Webinar to feedback the results.  A
recording of that talk can be viewed here or via the the Diocesan website.

After a period of discernment, the Synodal process will move to its Regional Phase, with our Diocese making a written submission to the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales steered by the European Council of Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE). The Synod process will eventually progress to the Universal Church with the final Synod Gathering of Bishops in Rome in 2023.
